Judo Classes are geared toward the development of takedown skills, specifically those that utilize the grips provided by the gi worn during Judo and Jiu Jitsu competitions. Judo class begins with a vigorous warm-up using various exercises and includes a variety of drills that help develop balance as well as the ability to properly break one’s fall. The next section of the class uses uchikomi movements which develop and reinforce the students ability to throw and to properly secure his opponent on the ground following the throw. The last portion of the class is used for “randori” or open sparring in which students practice the techniques that they have learned. Kids, Adults, and students of all levels are welcome.
